Configuring TCP/IP Services?

» close window

The Question is:

I just took over a VAX 4000 running VMS 7.1 and UCX 4.1. I'm only vaguely
familiar with configuring it, and I've just been told our netmask is wrong.
After poking around all afternoon at the UCX prompt, I give up. How can I
change the subnet mask?

Thank you,
Scott

The Answer is :

Please start with the OpenVMS documentation available at the OpenVMS
website -- see the FAQ for details. This documentation is for a version
newer than that in use here and will have some differences as a result.

The easiest way is via the TCPIP$CONFIG tool -- referenced in the product
documentation. (You will need to use the UCX$CONFIG tool on releases
  prior to V5.0.)

The direct access is via the SET INTERFACE/NETWORK_MASK command.

You can and should upgrade to at least V4.2 with the current ECO, or
  (better) to V5.0A or later.
