IP Routing (path splitting)?

» close window

The Question is:

Running OpenVMS 7.1-2 and UCX 4.2 ECO 3

We have two point to point Gigabit cables connect via DEPGA cards one end is
 Tru64 the other is OpenVMS. On the VMS system Interface A is 10.137.21.11,
 Interface B is 10.137.22.11. Subnet masks are 255.255.255.0, broadcast mask
 is 10.137.x.255 for each
respective interface.

The problem is all traffic seems to be routed down the first interface defined
 in UCX, despite the routing tables being configured as follows;

10.137.22.0  10.137.22.11
10.137.21.0  10.137.21.11

Configuration works fine from the Unix side.

The Answer is :

  V4.2 doesn't claim to support path-splitting. The OpenVMS Wizard
  recollects the behaviour you are seeing is expected -- the first
  matching route table entry will be used.
