Third-party (IP) Printer?

» close window

The Question is:

I'm setting up a TCP/IP queue for a konica ditigal copier that has a fiery X2E
 controller. The IP port for the controller is 515 and the IP address is
 10.13.0.28. I can ping the printer using UCX sucessfully. I have set up
 queues to HP Jetdirect contro
llers without a problem. The queue definition below is very close to the same
 as the HP queue that works perfectly:

Printer queue THE_SLC1, idle, on CMA2::"10.13.0.28:515", mounted form DEFAULT
  /BASE_PRIORITY=4 /DEFAULT=(FORM=DEFAULT) /LIBRARY=NET_PRINTERS Lowercase
  /OWNER=[SYSTEM] /PROCESSOR=UCX$TELNETSYM /PROTECTION=(S:M,O:D,G:R,W:S)
  /SCHEDULE=(NOSIZE)

Below is what happens when I print a small and large job. In either case
 nothing comes out on the printer.

$ print/que=the_slc1 small.txt
Job SMALL (queue THE_SLC1, entry 1067) started on THE_SLC1

Job SMALL (queue THE_SLC1, entry 1067) completed
$ print/que=the_slc1 large.txt
Job LARGE (queue THE_SLC1, entry 1068) started on THE_SLC1

Job LARGE (queue THE_SLC1, entry 1068) terminated with error status
%PSM-E-WRITEERR, error writing !AS

Any ideas?

The Answer is :

  No clue, and no equivilent device to test with. That said,
  the OpenVMS Wizard would encoruage using the TCPIP$TELNETSYM.
