DECserver download and configuration?

» close window

The Question is:

What is used now instead of dsvconfig.com to setup decservers? I replaced a bad
decserver 300 and it loads ok and I can use the ports for terminals but I can
not get the queued printers to work. We used to go into dsvconfig and do a
 swap decserver but tha
t does not seem to be it anymore. Is there some other utility, maybe in TSM?

The Answer is :

Support for the DECserver 300 has been discontinued some time ago.

DSVCONFIG is available on OpenVMS systems that have had the DECserver
  software download kit installed.

Access to the DECserver 300 command console can be via MOP -- and
MOP is available via LANCP, via DECnet Phase IV, and via DECnet-Plus.
One of these three mechanisms normally downloads the DECserver 300
software, though the particular choice varies by site.

Please see existing discussions of TSM here in Ask The Wizard.
