» close window

The Question is:

I would like to connect the tta0 line of my server (AlphaServer 200, ucx 4.1)
from an other ip-host with telnet(function like a terminal server port). Could
you help me with the server configuration.

Thanks

The Answer is :

It is far easier to simply use a direct serial line connection from the
remote host, via a hardwired line or a modem.

If you want to use IP over a serial line (on an OpenVMS Alpha system),
you will have to get PPP configured and working between the IP hosts.
(An upgrade to TCP/IP Services V5.0A or later is also recommended when
you are using OpenVMS V7.1 -- the TCP/IP Services V4.1 release is very
  old, and should be upgraded.)

  For additional PPP information, see 779, 1007, 1158, 1269, 1311, 1416,
  1479, 1997, 2191, 2270, 2441, etc.
