Intermittent errors with telnet printing?

The Question is:

 
We have a
DECserver 90TL V1.1A BL45-11  LAT V5.1  ROM 2.0.0,  and a telnet queue on port 5
We have intermittant problems with the queue stalling.
Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.2 - ECO 4
  on a AlphaServer 4100 5/400 4MB running OpenVMS V6.2-1H3
Error message in UCS$telnetsym_queuename.log
Thu Jul  6 15:10:27 2000, Starting queue ("MKY0D1:2005")
Thu Jul  6 15:48:24 2000, open_socket_ast invoked with bad IOSB 556: device time
out
Thu Jul  6 15:50:09 2000, open_socket_ast invoked with bad IOSB 556: device time
out.
We previuosly had a problem with ereror IOSB 660
but that appears to have been resolved with UCX 4.2 eco 4 patch
Please help with any suggestions

The Answer is :

 
  Assuming that the information on TCP/IP Services timeouts and retries
  found in topic 1020 does not assist -- sometimes the retries can be a
  little too fast for certain printers -- please contact the folks at
  the Compaq Customer Support Center directly.  Also check that the
  printer involved is itself up to current revision, as there are some
  printers around with known problems.  Also check to see if you have
  intermittent errors on your network.
