The Question is:

 
I'm currently trying to backup files from one server to a tape drive in another
 server (non-clustered). I encountered the error below when trying the MGMT12
 suggested in OpenVMS Fax:
 
$ backup *.*;* <remote_server>"<user> <pwd>"::"task=backup_server"/sav
%BACKUP-F-OPENOUT, error opening TSMS01"<user> password"::"task=backup_server"
as output
-RMS-E-CRE, ACP file create failed
-SYSTEM-F-LINKEXIT, network partner exited
 
What seems to be the problem? Appreciate if you could help me. Thank you.

The Answer is :

 
  Find out why the network partner exited -- look in the NET*SERVER.LOG
  file typically created on the remote system.
