Compatibility of TCP/IP package syntax?

» close window

The Question is:

I have a script that sends a file via FTP to 2 CS's, one running UCX, the other
 with Pathway.
UCX does not like the IGNORE commands, what is the compatible equivalent for
 both.

Also where can I find information for FTP compatibility for both versions
of TCPIP

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard can assist you with TCP/IP Services, but is not
familiar with nor in a position to assist with third-party packages.

The OpenVMS Wizard would generally recommend the use of the OpenVMS
DCL command COPY/FTP for FTP-based file transfers. (The OpenVMS
Wizard does not know if the particular third-party IP stack supports
the COPY/FTP interface, though at least some third-party IP packages
  do have such support.)

For information on the COPY/FTP command, please see the HELP COPY /FTP
text, as well as the OpenVMS and TCP/IP Services documentation. For
specific assistance on the "IGNORE" options, additional background on
the particular problem being solved will be required -- please contact
  the Compaq Customer Support Center.

For assistance with the third-party IP stack, please contact the
  third-party IP vendor directly.
