Inconsistency in LANCP and SNMP Ethernet speeds?

» close window

The Question is:

I am running TCP/IP 5.0, on cat 5 fast ethernet. When I use StorageWorks with
SNMP, I get the ethernet interface speed is set to 10Mbs. When I usr MC LANCP
sho config param, it get the ethernet interface set to 100Mbs.

Is this an error in the setup of my system, or SNMP returning incorrect
 information?

The Answer is :

If LANCP says the link is operating at 100 megabits per second, it
is most likely correct as it inquires directly of the driver.

Information on the particular link speed can also be acquired from
  the console environment variable settings.

If not Compaq, please contact the maintainer of the particular SNMP
package directly for assistance in resolving this. If this is the
Compaq SNMP implementation, please contact the Compaq Customer Support
  Center directly.
