OpenVMS on DECstation 5000? (MIPS)

» close window

The Question is:

Will a DECstation 5000/200 boot VMS?

The Answer is :

The list of supported platforms is included in the OpenVMS Software
Product Description (SPD), available via the URL in the OpenVMS FAQ.

In this specific case, the DECstation 5000 series utilizes a member
of the MIPS series of microprocessors, and the usual operating system
found on this and other MIPS-based systems (on those systems shipped
by DIGITAL) is the ULTRIX RISC operating system.

Only those VAX- and Alpha-based systems specifically listed in the
OpenVMS SPD are officially supported by OpenVMS.
