Bad SCSI hardware?

» close window

The Question is:

When trying to init a scsi disk the following error occurs:

%INIT-F-DEVCMDERR, device command error

this seems to be slot specific not disk specific as swapping the disks has no
effect which ever is in the slot doesn't work

System:
(AlphaServer 1000A 5/333 / Alpha VMS V7.2-1)

Disks are internal.

The Answer is :

Assuming this isn't a case of a SCSI unit number collision or a
misconfigured (over-long, mis-terminated, etc) SCSI bus, please
contact your hardware service organization for assistance in
  resolving this.
