The Question is:

Hello

How are you ?.

I have an ES40 with 3CPU (500Mhz) 4GB memory running OpenVMS 7.2-1.I am using
HSG80 for my storage controller. I also have a Gigabit network card conected
to a 3Com switch. I have also installed ACMS, Oracle RDB 7.0.3 and CCD. My
 problem is that the syste
m crashes randomly. Each times, the dump indicates a lockmgr.err. I have
applied the latest patches from compaq. What could be the problem. I am not
sure whether the problem is coming from VMS or Oracle.

Also I have a limitation on the number of ACMS users who can log into the
system. I have tried setting the max_logins together with max_tts_tcp and
cp_slots to the logins I require
but this has not helped .

Regards

The Answer is :

Without far more details of the lock manager crash than are feasible
to provide via the Ask The Wizard mechanism, the OpenVMS Wizard is not
in a position to determine the cause or the trigger -- please continue
with direct contact with the Compaq Customer Support Center. This could
be a hardware problem, an OpenVMS exec or driver or lock manager problem,
an ACMS problem, an Rdb problem, or some other (unspecified) problem.
