Coresidence of IDE and SCSI storage?

» close window

The Question is:

Can you add a IDE hard drive to a system that is run with a SCSI hard drive?

The Answer is :

Without specific details of the particular OpenVMS Alpha system involved,
a specific answer to this question is not possible -- certain OpenVMS
Alpha systems do support both IDE and SCSI disks and disk controllers,
given (of course) the installation of the appropriate IDE and SCSI storage
controllers. Other systems do not. Please contact your Compaq reseller
or your Compaq sales representative for further configuration assistance.
