Spooling and queuing and intermediate storage?

» close window

The Question is:

VMS queues and Multinet Queues are currently located on the System disk. I
would like to relocate these queues to a seperate disk. How do I do this and
 what are the potential problems?

The Answer is :

Please see the OpenVMS documentation on setting up the queue manager,
and particularly on the use of the SET DEVICE/SPOOLED=... command to
reset the location of the intermediate files for any files that are
spooled directly to the device (an attribute that is of interest only
when the files are copied directly to the device, and not relevent to
files that are queued to the device), and on the use of the QMAN$MASTER
logical name to relocate the entire queue database files. (Files that
are queued to a device are not stored on an intermediate device, these
files are accessed directly from their original submission location.)

As for how Multinet operates and is configured and on any potential
implications of this change, please contact Multinet support.
