DECwindows DTGREET INVEXCEPTN bugcheck?

» close window

The Question is:

I have a new DS10 workstation with ELSA Gloria display adapter, OPENVMS 7.2-1,
 non-clustered.
When booting from the AlphaBIOS console, (for example after powering on the
 system), just as the
boot process finishes, the system bugchecks with
INVEXCEPTN, Exception while above ASTDEL, process DTGREET

A crashdump is created, system then reboots normally. This behavior appears to
 happen
more often than not. First boot crashes, second boot (after the crash dump) has
 always
been successful.

System came configured with OpenVMS 7.2-1, DECNETOSI, Dec TCPIP services.
I removed DECNET OSI and installed DECNET Phase IV (need to be compatible with
 older
VMS system in area) and installed Multinet 4.3. Other than that .. system is
 vanilla flavoured.

Are there patches recommended for this situation?

The Answer is :

OpenVMS is not supported by the AlphaBIOS console. The OpenVMS Wizard
will assume use of the SRM console.

Without details of the INVEXCEPTN, a specific answer is not possible.

Please apply the available mandatory ECO kits for OpenVMS, ensure that
the console SRM is at the current revision, and (if the bugcheck problem
persists) please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center directly.

Also check with the maintainers of Multinet -- to see if they have any
  similar problems.
