The Question is:

I want to test my DCL procedures on a non-production system, e.g. a PC running
Windows 98, 2000, or NT. How do I do this? We have a cluster of Alphaserver
8400's running OVMS 7.2-1H1 and we do not have a test system. Can I run OVMS
 on an INTEL based ma
chine, or do I have to buy an Alpha-station?

Thank you.

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard would recommend acquisition of a small AlphaServer
or AlphaStation system (new or used equipment) for purposes of testing
and prototyping. Alternatively, borrow time on another OpenVMS system.

OpenVMS operates only on VAX and Alpha hardware.

The OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to predict success with OpenVMS
on a third-party platform or on a PC pr other platform emulation, nor to
predict success with a PC-based DCL emulation.
