The Question is:

I'm running OpenVMS on an XP1000 with a P1100 Monitor. The monitor is set up
for the following resolution 1024x768. How do I go about changing this
resolution? Is there a VMS command?

The Answer is :

Please see the OpenVMS FAQ for a discussion of graphics and
  graphics resolutions and monitor compatibility.

As a start, you will need to determine which graphics controller
was ordered with and is present within in the AlphaStation XP1000.

If the controller is the ELSA GLoria Synergy, please see topic (5448).

Other graphics controllers can (and do) use other mechanisms for
  changing the display resolution.

Most displays with auto-synch with the controller resolution, up to
  a specified maximum resolution value.
