Debugger instability?

» close window

The Question is:

I had a debugging session where I'm using the kept debugger and I've connected
to a process. I typed step to step over a subroutine call (this subroutine
makes a lock request of the DLM, involves timers, ASTs, and other "stuff") and
 I got:
%DEBUG-E-INTERR, debugger error in DBGEVENT\DBG$ANNOUNCE_EXIT_STATUS Unexpected
status from GET_MESSAGE or session corruption
%DEBUG-W-SCRNOSRCLIN, No source line for address: 0000000000000000
This happened a few times, in different debugger sessions on different machines.

The Answer is :

This would appear to be a bug in the OpenVMS Debugger, or a problem
in the application that has rendered the debugger unstable.

As the OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have applied the current ECO
kits for OpenVMS -- the mandatory kits and those associated with the
debugger -- the OpenVMS Wizard would encourage direct contact with
the Compaq Customer Support Center, as a source code reproducer will
  very likely be required.
