DECnet-Plus and the local database?

The Question is:

Hi,

We are upgrading from VMS 7.1-2 to 7.2-1.
The conversion of the info did not work properly. I do not show any known
nodes and I cannot figure out how to set them up.

I have looked at many of your docs,
have tried run sys$system:lancp,
               sys$system:ncp, etc.
               sys$system:decnet_register
until I have totally confused myself.

How would I set up the following,

Remote node = 3.1 (E)

Service circuit = EWA-0

Thanks,

Sue

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard STRONGLY recommends you acquire access to
and read the DECnet-Plus documentation, as you will find the
DECnet-Plus command interface and tools rather different than
  those of DECnet Phase IV.

In this case, you will use the DECNET_REGISTER tool to register
a node to DECnet. (The NCP tool provided with DECnet-Plus provides
rather limited compatibility with the NCP tool of DECnet Phase IV.)

If you wish to configure MOP support for downloads of terminal
servers or cluster satellite nodes, the OpenVMS Wizard would tend
to recommend the use of the LANCP utility, and not the use of the
MOP support in DECnet Phase IV and DECnet-Plus. (Additionally,
tools such as CLUSTER_CONFIG_LAN can be used for establishing and
coordinating the LANCP configuration within an OpenVMS Cluster.)
