BACKUP CLD Command Error?

» close window

The Question is:

When booted from a minimum boot disk (created with the
"SYS$SYSTEM:AXPVMS$PCI_INSTALL_MIN.COM" procedure), the backup command returns
a CLI error parsing the "snapshot". The specific command I enter is
 BACKUP/REWIND/IMAGE DKB0: MKB300:STAN610.BCK/SAVESET
. How can I do a backup from this boot disk?

The Answer is :

Please try an V7.1-2 kit or a more recent distribution disk.

Please upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 or later.

If your current BACKUP environment functions on your current system
disk, recreate the minimal bootable environment disk after applying
the available ECO kits for OpenVMS Alpha. (There are a number of
these for OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 -- V7.1-2 and its ECO kits are rather
  easier to install.)

The exact error message would be useful, though the error it appears
you have referenced would imply that the DCLTABLES are skewed, or that
there is more than one copy of DCLTABLES around on the system disk.
