» close window

The Question is:

May I know what is the meaning of the following error:

%DCL-I-ALLOC, _$1$MKA400: allocated
%MOUNT-I-MOUNTED, INGRES mounted on _$1$MKA400: (PPAS01)
13-JUL-2001 06:12:36 CPP: Starting checkpoint of location: ppasdb_location_2

                                to tape: path = '$1$mka400', file = 'c0732002.ck
p'.
%DCL-I-ALLOC, _$1$MKA400: allocated
%BACKUP-E-FATALERR, fatal error on $1$MKA400:[]C0732002.CKP; - ctnl
-SYSTEM-F-TIMEOUT, device timeout - catridge extracted
%BACKUP-I-OPERSPEC
%BACKUP-I-OPERASSIST, operator assistance has been requested

The Answer is :

This appears to be a storage-related error from within a DCL script
  and/or an application image.

You will want to evaluate your SCSI configuration for correctness.
In particular, you will want to shorten the SCSI bus, ensure proper
SCSI termination, verify correctly unique SCSI address settings for
all SCSI peripherals and for all SCSI controllers, and you want to
verify the correct operation of this particular (unspecified type of)
tape device. Further, you will want to check the error log for any
relevent errors. Additionally, you will want to use the cleaning
cartridge, if one is available for this particular (unspecified type
of) tape device, and you will want to attempt this operation with a
new or a known-good tape cartridge.

If no obvious triggers for this error become apparent after the
above-mentioned research, you will want to contact your hardware
  support organization for assistance.

You will want to upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2, V7.2-1, or later,
and apply current (mandatory) ECO kits for OpenVMS.
