Trigger for System Reboot? (restart)

» close window

The Question is:

My server has been "crashing?" nightly. It
comes right up everytime. I am wondering about
the dec event entry that states a Cold Start..
could this be a power supply problem. The
unit is hooked to a UPS and it didnt indicate
any type of power loss???

The Answer is :

Please contact your hardware service organization for assistance
in determining the trigger for this event. You will probably be
asked to maintain and to review the console output from around the
trigger for the system bootstrap -- the console can log messages
indicating the particulars of the event. You may also be asked to
set the system console to restart upon halt, as various operations
which would otherwise not be logged can then be written out as part
  of a system crashdump.

You will need to involve your hardware service organization in this.
This could, of course, be the result of hardware or a software problem.
