» close window

The Question is:

Hello,
I created a new queue in the system through the
ucx$lprsetup.
when trying to print, i get the error message.
I didn't find anything about it in the relevant literature,
can you please help me solve the problem.

I have another e-mail address: ayalah73@hotmail.com,
if the other one doesn't receive messages.

thanks,
Noa.

The Answer is :

Please review topic (1020) and please review the contents of
  the printcap file.

In all likelyhood, the spool directory specified in the printcap
(the "sd" option) is incorrect, unavailable, or otherwise invalid.

The chapter on setting up LPR and LPR printing services within
the TCP/IP Services Management Manual will be of interest.

You can also use SYS$SYSTEM:UCX$LPRSETUP.EXE or (on V5.0 and more
recent releases) SYS$SYSTEM:TCPIP$LPRSETUP.EXE to configure LPR
  printering under TCP/IP Services.

The OpenVMS Wizard encourages an upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.2-2
(or later) or to OpenVMS VAX V7.3 (or later, as available), and
to TCP/IP Services V5.1 and later, and the application of the
available (and appropriate) ECO kits for the particular product
and version. Details and pointers are in the FAQ.
