BACKUP processing of output tape?

The Question is:

 
I'm investigating the possibility of doing several image backups to the same
 tape.
 
Will an image backup to tape initialize the tape?

The Answer is :

 
  Please review the documentation of BACKUP /[NO]REWIND.
  Please also review the suggested commands in the BACKUP documentation.
  And please further ensure that you have the current mandatory ECO kits
