TCP/IP Print Queues, Network Printer?

» close window

The Question is:

We need to set up a printer using tcp/ip on the network. I have searched for
setting up tcp/ip printers and print queues but have found nothing. How do I
go about setting this up or finding the information to do so?

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section entitled
"Connecting to an IP Printer?" will be of interest here, as will
other sections of the FAQ, as will topic (1020) and other IP Printing
topics here in Ask The Wizard, as will the TCP/IP Services documentation
on setting up IP printers. (The on-line version of the TCP/IP Services
documentation is available via a URL reference included in the FAQ.)

Your OpenVMS version is an old hardware release, and this release is
no longer supported. Please upgrade to a more recent OpenVMS release,
and please apply the available (mandatory) ECO kits for the release.
(Though V7.1-2 is also unsupported, it would be far preferable to
the continued use of V7.1-1H1 or V7.1-1H2. V7.2-2 or V7.3 or later
would be the prefered releases.) To access an available search engine
which can find the available ECO kits with the specified installation
ratings, please see the OpenVMS FAQ section on ECO kits.
