» close window

The Question is:

We recently starting to get messages wrt Mount Verification status from our
 production Alpha disks. An example message is below:
*******************************************************************************
2002-11-23 12:40 [Critical] NEXSYS Disk _DSA110: status is mount verification

--------------------
SNS Event Parameters
--------------------
event_message    == 23-NOV 12:40 NEXSYS Disk _DSA110: status is mount
 verification
event_time       == 23-NOV-2002 12:40:43.24
event_code       == SNS_C_DSS
event_node       == MISAL1
event_cluster    == NEXSYS
action_routine   == SNS_NEX_V1
event_flag       == SNS_C_NEW
match_string     == _DSA110:|mount verification
*******************************************************************************
What causes these messages? Are they a real problem? How do I stop them from
 showin up if they are not a problem?

The Answer is :

  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you do not know the proximate
  cause here; that you do not know what has changed immediately
  prior to the onset of these messages.

  The underlying cause could be hardware or software, of course.

  Please contact your hardware support organization for assistance
  with diagnosing the cause of OpenVMS mount verification messages.
  Details on the hardware configuration and details from the system
  error log will likely be required.

  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have all mandatory ECO kits
  installed. If you do not, please start here.
