Microsoft Domain Controllers (PDC, BDC)?

The Question is:

 
Sorry if this is a repeat question. I am new to the whole VMS/Pathworks
 environment.  My company currently runs OpenVMS v7.1 for VAX with Pathworks
 Advanced Served v6.0A as our PDC.  The clients are all Win NT 4.0 Workstations
 with Pathworks 32.  We want
to add a BDC to the domain.  Can we add a Win 2000 Server to be the BDC or is
 that not supported (does the BDC have to be NT Server 4.0)?
 

The Answer is :

 
  HP PATHWORKS V6 for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) and its follow-on product,
  HP Advanced Server V7 for OpenVMS, are both implementations of the
  Microsoft LanManager 3.0 file and print server, an implementation
  based on and interoperable with the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 platform.
 
  Microsoft does not support Windows 2000 configured as a Backup Domain
  Controller (BDC) to a Windows NT 4.0 server, and as such neither
  would OpenVMS support Windows 2000 being a BDC to a PATHWORKS server.
  To add a Windows 2000 server to the domain would require making the
  Windows 2000 server be configured as the Primary Domain Controller
  (PDC) for the domain.
 
  Further, PATHWORKS V6.0A for OpenVMS is no longer a supported version.
  PATHWORKS V6.1 is the supported version.  PATHWORKS V6.1 introduces
  support for what is known as Member Server Role, which would then
  allow you to configure the Windows 2000 server in native mode.
 
  Windows 2000 is supported only with PATHWORKS V6.1 for OpenVMS, or
  with Advanced Server V7.3 for OpenVMS, and (potentially) with later
  Advanced Server releases (as available).
