The Question is:

 
We have a DEC Alpha running VMS 7.1-2 and Pathworks 5.  We have recently
 upgraded several of our desktops to Windows XP Pro.  Out of the 15 PC in use
 2-3 users can not map to a share on the Alpha.  The system asks for username
 and password.  After the use
r enters the information, it still fails to connect.  The PCs are clones, so
 all the software is installed identically on each of them.

The Answer is :

 
  Please move to current Advanced Server and PATHWORKS32 client versions;
  the versions in use well-predate your Microsoft Windows requirements.
