The Question is:

After upgrading from 7.2-1 to 7.3-1 and applying all the neccessary patches AND
the TCPIP 5.3 MUP, when I invoke the FTP utility I get the following message:

SYS=>ftp
FTP> open ftp.xxxxx.xxx
%LIB-E-KEYNOTFOU, key not found in tree
%LIB-E-KEYNOTFOU, key not found in tree
%LIB-E-KEYNOTFOU, key not found in tree
%TCPIP-E-FTP_NETERR, I/O error on network device
-TCPIP-E-NO_RECOVERY, unexpected name server failure
FTP>

FYI, We are using MULTINET V 4.3 in our communications, we don't use TCPIP.

Did I miss something?, should I remove the TCPIP V5.3 from the system?

The system was running fine under V7.2-1 and TCPIP V 5.0

The Answer is :

You can have at most one IP stack installed on an OpenVMS system,
either TCP/IP Services or Multinet or another stack. The TCP/IP
Services ECO kits do not apply to Multinet, nor would the OpenVMS
Wizard expect that any Process Multinet ECO kits would particularly
  apply to TCP/IP Services.

If you should choose to switch IP stacks, the OpenVMS Wizard would
generally recommend removing the current IP stack before installing
  the other IP stack.

If you are running the Multinet IP stack, please contact Process
Software with any associated questions, problem reports, or support
  requests.
