KFPSA DSSI PCI Adapter?

» close window

The Question is:

We have an Alpha 2100 . I would like to configure a HSD50 to this system . What
 DSSI
controller would I use for this ?

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard cannot recommend creating and utilizing a new DSSI
configuration at this time, as all such hardware and hardware support
has been long since retired. Configuration support is also rather more
complex, given the use of the DSSI bus and the HSD DSSI-to-SCSI adapter.
DSSI itself also offers only roughly the I/O performance of a SCSI-1
connection; very slow I/O, by current standards.

Please acquire and please use (larger and faster) SCSI devices, either
in the storage enclosure within the AlphaServer 2100 or in an external
  SCSI enclosure.

The KFPSA was the DSSI-to-PCI adapter. For details of support of this
and other peripherals on the AlphaServer 2100 series, please see the
  AlphaServer 2100 series options listings.

Please contact your hardware support organization for assistance.
