Advanced Server BlobCache Warnings?

» close window

The Question is:

I have recently upgraded Pathworks from V5.0 to V6.1 (Advanced Server).

When Pathworks is started I get the following message in Opcom: "BlobCache
Warning: Sum of Blob file control areas exceeds recommended maximum percentage
of data cache size. To ensure that the server performs properly, please
 increase your data cache siz
e!"

This message appears several times.

What is a BlobCache, and how do I prevent these messages occurring?

The Answer is :

The Blob Cache is another name for the file server's data cache.

Please reference the Advanced Server for OpenVMS Server Administrator's
  Guide for details:

    http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/73final/documentation/pdf/ADSRV_ADMIN_GD.PDF

Please see chapter 7, Managing Server Configuration Parameters, and in
particular, section 7.1 and the basic configuration parameters screen
-- where you will want to increase the size of the data cache.

If this information proves insufficient, please contact the customer
  support center directly.
