IBM MQ Series Reporting Error?

» close window

The Question is:

I am running IBM MQSeries for VAX/VMS Rel 2.2.1 on my VMS 6.2 system. MQSeries
is logging the following error message:

     08/04/03 03:10:05 AMQ9208: Error on receive from host '170.132.235.68'.

EXPLANATION: An error occurred receiving data from '170.132.235.68' over
TCP/IP. This may be due to a communications failure.
ACTION: Record the TCP/IP return code 60 (X'182B2') and tell the systems
 administrator.

UCX SHOW VERSION returns the following information:

Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS VAX Version V4.2 - ECO 4
  on a VAX 7000-640 running OpenVMS V6.2

Question: What does the return code mean? Where can I find this and other
return codes? I have searched the online documentation and website, and can
not find any references to this error/return code.

Thanks,
Dave Awerbuch

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard is not your system administrator, and is
not familiar with IBM MQSeries error processing.

If this error is an OpenVMS error, it can be translated as:

    $ exit %x182b2
    %RMS-E-RNF, record not found

That said, the OpenVMS Wizard does not know if this is a valid
or a bogus translation and -- if this is an OpenVMS condition
value -- what record the MQ Series enviroment and/or the TCP/IP
  Services might be seeking.

You will need to involve your software support organization(s)
  directly in this situation.
