Ethernet Cluster Communications?

The Question is:

Is it possible to use a 100 fullduplex ethernet connection (in a private
switched VLAN network) as the intercluster connection?

We have to move one node to a remote campus in which we do not have any free
 singlemode fiber interconnection.

Thanks.

The Answer is :

Yes, so long as throughput and the latency is that of (at least) a
ten megabit Ethernet link at a minimum, and (in practice) sufficient
to meet the cluster I/O requirements.
