Problems with DMC-writing application?

The Question is:

 
I am writing a .dmc file.  My code in this file
Opens a data set and looks for specified dept. number and prints out specified
 attributes like First name last name etc. to specified output file to be
 printed out from vms platform.
 
How can I adjust column width and take out extra spaces between the columns so
 that all the columns can fit on one page?
