Disabling Audit Server?

» close window

The Question is:

I am trying to switch off AUDIT on my VAX 6000-610. Using various commands e.g.

SET AUDIT/DISABLE
SET AUDIT/AUDIT/DISABLE=ALL
SET AUDIT/ALARM/DISABLE=ALL

but all to no avail.

Can you advise please.

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard is not familiar with a No Avail error or error
state -- please contact the support center directly, as details of
what you mean by this statement would be useful. The English part
of the statement is obvious, of course -- what errors you saw and
the related details are needed here.

The OpenVMS Wizard does not generally recommend shutting down system
  security auditing.

Details on disabling the audit server and security auditing are
in the security manual, see the SET AUDIT and SET SERVER commands,
as well as the SECURITY_POLICY system parameter.
