DECwindows on unsupported graphics cards?

The Question is:

 
Dear Sir,
I try to reactivate an old AlphaServer 400 4/166 with OpenVMS 7.2-1.
The graphics card type PCXAG-AL does only work in text mode.
DECwindows says: 'Chip type S3 Vision864 not supported'.
Do you have any solution to my problem?

    Why is DECwindows Motif not starting?
 
  will be of interest.  In particular, please acquire a
  supported graphics card.  The FAQ lists related details,
