Windows XP, Firewalls and Map Network Drive?

» close window

The Question is:

The Windows platform is Windows XP SP1 w/ an Intel Pro 1000 card with Internet
 Connection Firewall (ICF) enabled.

We cannot use the Map Network Drive function to map to an Advanced Server 7.3A
drive with ICF enabled. Although it works occasionally, the failure rate is
so high that, practically speaking, it does not work.

Disabling the ICF resolves the problem.

How do I maintain the ICF and still be able to map a drive to Advanced Server?

Mapping a drive to normal Windows 2000 shares is unaffected by the ICF status.
 Only Advanced Server mappings fail.

The Answer is :

Please contact the support center, as this appears to be centrally a
question of Windows XP configuration and not of OpenVMS itself, nor
  particularly Advanced Server.
