Batch usage of SSH or SET HOST?

» close window

The Question is:

I'm running HP TCP/IP 5.4 on VMS 7.3-1 on a DS20E. My problem is in executing
a DCL script in batch mode that runs an ssh command to execute a shell script
on a remote UNIX server. The DCL script works in interactive mode but in
 batch always returns

OpenVMS$tty_gettty() failed
%TCPIP-F-SSH_FATAL, non-specific fatal error condition

I am using publickey authentication. Is it possible to run ssh commands in
batch? If so, are there configuration options specific to batch mode? In
ssh2_config. I have uncommented "BatchMode YES", but to no effect. Thanks.

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have current ECOs applied for
OpenVMS and for TCP/IP Services, and that you have reviewed the ssh
release notes included with recent TCP/IP ECO kit releases including
V5.4 ECO 1 (eg: "ssh, sftp and scp do not work correctly in batch
  mode").

The OpenVMS Wizard would tend to use a VPN, or a mechanism such as
rsh or rexec, as a workaround. For resolution of this apparent
problem within the ssh implementation and its mis-handling of a
lack of a local command terminal, you will want to contact the
  customer support center directly.
