CONVERT/FDL, EDIT/FDL and RMS Tuning?

» close window

The Question is:

I want to create a procedure to tune a number of files via the ANA/RMS,
EDIT/FDL, CONVERT/FDL process but instead of the default "middle" bucket size,
I want to choose the largest of the three values which would be offered in an
 interactive EDIT/FDL sessi
on. Is there any way to achieve this?

The Answer is :

  HELP EDIT /FDL, specifically /NOINTERACTIVE and /EMPHASIS.

Alternatively, generate and/or modify the FDL directly.

If frequent tuning is required, you will want to look at
the file creation mechanisms used, and adjust those. Or
look at the particulars of the load to determine why there
are such varied loads, and what can be done to adjust the
  files and file organizations appropriately.

  FDL tuning topocs include (9220), (7697), (6886), (2764),
and others. Other RMS file tuning discussions include (292),
  (1676), (2259), (2618), (2764), (2794), (3345), (3598), (3948),
  (4341), (4365), (6718), (6886), (7425), (7557), (7757), (8409),
  (9020) and (9689),
