"The Quattro PS can use any one of ten serial ports.
If you are in the 'Change Configuration' window, use F5 
and F6 to choose a port, but make sure your application 
program is able to use the port which you select.
COM3 and COM4 are not recommended since they are
not officially supported by IBM, but are provided for 
compatibility with older comms packages.
If your choice is marked with an asterisk, then 
the port is being used by another device, and you should 
reselect."
