1) APPLY for digital ID from third-party issuer     verification
  2) RECEIVE personal ID; it comprises a certificate and a private key  
3) OBTAIN digital ID of intended correspondents  
  4) ENTER correspondents' IDs into your Outlook Express address book "Certificate includes a public key: it's a unique identifier of your messages."

5) COMPOSE e-mail as usual  
"You have now digitally signed the message. This means the Outlook Express software on your computer has generated a unique number that ties the message to your digital ID." 6) CLICK Digital Signature icon    
     
    7) CLICK Encryption icon "You have now taken the content of the message and encoded it so that it will be unviewable in transit."
