The Windows 2000 SP4 Checked Build is a separate version of Windows 2000 SP4 and should not be installed in addition to the Windows 2000 SP4 Web download or the Windows 2000 SP4 CD.

The Checked Build is a compiled set of files that include debugging information, providing system administrators with specific details about program functioning. The Checked Build files are not required for proper operation of your computer.

Important note If you currently have Windows 2000 Checked Build with SP2 installed, an error may occur while attempting to install Windows 2000 SP4 Checked Build. The error message is "The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application." The SP4 Checked Build installation will not be completed until this error is resolved. To correct the issue, read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 316605.
