Kermit 95 Notes

Terminal Emulation

Kermit 95 emulates the ADM-3A, Heath19 and dozens of other terminals in addition the usual VT/ANSI options implemented by other tools such has Tera Term and PuTTY. It's perhaps the only SSH-equipped ADM-3A emulator!

One terminal it does not currently emulate is xterm (though few other terminals truly emulate xterm). For talking to modern linux hosts, using the "linux" terminal type with the utf-8 character set will typically give the best results.

The next release (3.0 beta 8) will add a "k95" terminal type which has its own terminfo description and provides features such as 24bit colour, bracketed paste, etc.

Patches for K95 2.1.2 and earlier

Kermit 95 releases up to and including v2.1.3 are proprietary software, not freeware or open-source. The latest free and open source release of Kermit 95 runs everywhere the old proprietary releases did and for most purposes should have fewer bugs and more features. But if you have some reason to run antique K95 releases, you may find the patches below useful.

I have collected up these old patches primarily because as the current maintainer of Kermit 95, its occasionally useful being able to go back to earlier versions to check past behaviour. I have not tested most of these patches as the earliest K95 release I've managed to get my hands on so far is v1.1.15 for x86 Windows, and many earlier patches I have been unable to find.
