If Kingdoms recommended that you upgrade to DirectPlay 6.1a, then this program will help you. As a result, you should experience fewer in-game disconnects.
- Run the executable to install. The install process replaces existing software on your computer.
- Check your hard drive for space. The download will require 474 KB of space on your hard drive. Do not run these files from the Web.
- Delete the installer to free up disc space. It is not necessary to keep the installer, DPLAY61A_Retail.exe on your hard drive after you've run it.

to activate new keyboard commands
No-Sound
Utility
The
Kingdoms No-Sound Utility is a simple file that removes the "bong"
sound that plays when issuing orders to units. Download and install
this file ONLY if you wish to remove this sound. No worries, though
-- the file can simply be removed from the Kingdoms directory, returning
the game's sounds to default status.
Instructions
- To
install the file:

Download and unzip the noack.hpi
file (very small -- only 1K).

Place the .hpi file in the root TA:K install directory (default
is "C:\Cavedog\Kingdoms").

Restart TA:K.
To
remove the file and return the game sounds to default:
-
Delete noack.hpi or remove it from the root TA:K install directory
(default is "C:\Cavedog\Kingdoms").

Restart TA:K.
