Alex has a B.Sc. in physics and significant training in aerospace engineering. While pursuing these accomplishments, one of the things he discovered, as he states, "… was that I really liked having a computer do my work for me." After discovering this affinity for computers, he moved to IT work with an inauspicious start working for an ISP that went out of business four weeks after hiring him.

Since then, Alex has moved to small business consulting, specializing in automation and remote management. He became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in 1998 and followed up with a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) and MCP+I (Internet) certifications in 2001. He presently works as an independent consultant and writes technical documents for Windows & .NET Magazine.
