Matthew Harris
Terminal Services MVP
Published: November 25, 2002
Before becoming a Microsoft MVP for Terminal Services, Matthew worked as an intern at the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory in California while attending class at UC Davis. After graduating in December 2000 with a BS degree in genetics, he was offered a full-time research position at Crocker, allowing more freedom to bring the network infrastructure up-to-date. Six months later he successfully converted the entire facility to thin clients and terminal server architecture. Matthew recently applied for the graduate program at UC Davis and plans to continue improving the terminal services at the nuclear lab.
While he works and studies indoors for long hours, Matthew finds balance by spending much of his free time outside. He and his new fiancée are both avid road and mountain bikers who enjoy racing in all conditions over and around the hills outside Davis, California, as well as the occasional challenge overseas. Earlier this year they became engaged while biking together in Spain and will be married in August of 2003.
