Egbert Nierop is a consultant in the Netherlands. When not playing the drums, bass, or guitar or listening to music, he dreams about "going big" with computing—something that used to be possible only on mainframes, but was later possible on simple, "Wintel"-based systems. Today, he programs for huge, scalable systems running on Microsoft SQL Server® 2000 and IIS using many programming languages, such as C++, Basic, C#, and SQL. He has worked for several financial corporations and businesses as well as the Dutch Stock Exchange.
He enjoys creating small, fine-tuned components for the Web; one of his biggest creations is the ASP Session Manager, designed to meet the challenge of professional session-state management.
