Ryzen PC

This was my third new desktop PC and fifth new PC overall (the fourth new PC being the Lenovo Thinkpad T470 laptop) replacing Core i7 860 PC after over 13 years of use. All parts were ordered on the 15th, 16th and 17th of June 2023 with assembly starting at 11:@6am on the 20th.

The performance of this machines predecessor was getting quite bad in its final years, something I'd like to avoid with this one. For that reason AMDs AM5 platform was chosen in the hope of being able to easily do a CPU upgrade after a few years. The PC overall was specced and ordered in quite a short timeframe so a number of component choices were made based on what was currently in stock rather than what was best or cheapest. The motherboard in particular was not my first choice, but more appropriate cheaper options were out of stock and I didn't want to delay weeks or months waiting for that to change.
