Open NetWare Administrator and go into the properties for your Organisation. In the Launcher Configuration tab there is a Move icons to the desktop (Win 3.x) option (off by default).
If you enable the option the user can drag icons into program groups in program manager
Resulting in an icon being created in the selected program group.
The icon will still launch the application via NAL so the drive mappings, scripts, etc, will still happen. If NAL is not running when you launch the application it will be started and will stay running (minimised) after the application terminates.
